Q+A Loves: April Edition

Hello!

I hope you've all been enjoying mid-Spring, even if the weather isn't always as sunny as we would like! April saw the reopening of some non-essential businesses in the UK, and Q+A launch online and in store in Australia! Here's to celebrating, respectfully, at newly opened pub gardens 🥂

So let's get on with our loves!

What have we been watching?

The shows that have us on the edge of our seat, and reclined back in pure comfort...

Line of Duty

Whether it was last week's Loves that put them onto it, or they've been gripped the entire time, Lauren, Faye, Chloe, Andrew, Albie and Tim all said April was the month for this gripping police drama!

The Flight Attendant

Lucy tuned in to this thrilling comedy-drama in April, following an alcoholic flight attendant as she's drawn into a murder mystery that may or may not lead back to her...

Ginny & Georgia

Rich described this show to me as a modern Gilmore Girls crossed with Gossip Girl. Sound up your alley?

The Great British Sewing Bee

Janet has been gathering sewing inspo and ideas for May with this light-hearted reality show, perfect for some casual viewing with a cuppa!

Other notables:

Seaspriracy - Isabella, Key Account Manager

The Mauritanian  - Wendy, Purchasing Administrator

Bridge of Spies - Al, Director

Love It or List It - Julia, Finance Director

The Prestige - Paige, Stock Administrator

Life in a Year - Nicola, Production Assistant

Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - Patrick, Business Systems Analyst

What are we reading?

For education, understanding, and total emersion into another world...

The Secret Midwife - Katy Weitz

Taking a dive into the world of midwifery and birth in the UK, Nicola's pick this month details some of the struggles, surprises and joys of working within a NHS maternity unit

The Lord of the Rings - J. R. R. Tolkein

Albie revisited one of his favourites this April, and we'll see if he can finish it by end of May!

First Person Singular - Haruki Murakami

Rich chose this collection of eight short stories in, you guessed it, first person singular for his read in April!

The Descent of Man - Grayson Perry

Andrew enjoyed reading into Perry's ideas and insights into what masculinity entails, and how it could improve, this month.

What have we been listening to?

Newbies and classics together...

Honey in the Summer - Public

Graceland - Paul Simon

Fluids - Michael Medrano

What else have we been up to?

Team Q+A loves to have a project on the go...

Hitting the local pub

Beer gardens opened back up this month, and Team Q+A didn't need to be told twice! Rose, Albie, Paige and Lucy all said this was a highlight of April

DIY

You know there's always someone who's building/creating, and April is no different. Gary has been flexing his DIY decorating muscles, and Rich is working on a vegetable garden in his yard

Crafting

Isabella tried her hand at needle felting pompoms this month, and hopefully after a month or two of practise we'll have an image to share! I've pulled out the cross stitch and am making keychains!

Getting fit

Tim was excited to get back to his 5-a-side football team, and Andrew has started training for a marathon! I'm sure the warming weather has helped make that a little easier!

New Pets

Chris welcomed a school of new friends to his home this month, his favourite being the Super-red Bristlenose Pleck

Which Q+A products have we been reaching for?

A new season called for a revamped routine, so which products became our glowing skin staples?

This month Gary was loving his Peptide Facial Serum for its smooth texture and effective results, and Janet couldn't let go of her all-time favourite Q+A product, the Chamomile Night Cream, which she finds perfect as a non-sticky moisturiser! Rose, on the other hand, spent April in love with the Apple AHA Exfoliating Gel reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

The top spots, perhaps as a result of my pink focused blog, all went to the rosier coloured products! Andrew and Julia chose the Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cleanser for its bubbly foaming action and super fresh post-cleanse feel. Paige and I were loving the Liquorice Lip Oil, which we both have sitting on our desks for easy and frequent application. Chloe said the Vitamin A.C.E Warming Gel Mask left her skin bright and glowy, and Tim picked it as his fave; not only for its rejuvenating effect, but because he loved the challenge of overseeing the production of these honey-like masks!

But taking the cake this month is one of our newest products, the Rosehip Cleansing Oil! Isabella, Michelle and Lucy all couldn't get enough of this super gentle oil, with Lucy saying it was perfect taking off her SPF at the end of the day. Summer here we come!

So I hope this start to Spring was wonderful for you, and it's only going to improve! Let us know if there was anything that made your April memorable, bearable, or just plain fun. We're looking forward to sharing all of the plans we have for the next lifting of restrictions in May...

That's a wrap on April!
