It's Lucy here. With our resident blog-writer Amy taking a well deserved extended Christmas break, it fell into my hands to compose the final edition of Q+A Loves for 2020!
Of course, the December edition comes with a festive theme, as well as some new categories too. So without further ado, let's get started!❄️
What did our Secret Santa bring us?
Christmas 2020 wouldn't be complete without a socially distanced Secret Santa, but who got what this year?
Personalised puppy pressies!
Possibly the teams favourite Secret Santa gift, Key Account Manager Isabella received some adorable personalised socks covered in photos of her pup Elvis! Proud dog mum alert.
An indie guide to a new city...
We welcomed Andrew, our Quality Manager this month. To help him discover the hidden gems that Norwich has to offer, he unwrapped a guide to the best independent businesses in our fine city!
A book or two...
Janet, Head of NPD and Purchasing, was gifted with the first book in the Game of Thrones series, and at a whopping 912 pages, it's bound to keep her busy! Aleks was gifted with a vegan cookbook, so we're expecting lots of treats in Veganuary....
Our favourite tipples!
I received set of cocktail mixers which make the perfect companion to my drink of choice, gin. I'll be seeing in the new year with an at-home mixology class with my parents as taste-testers! Director Freddy found some Craft Beer in his Secret Santa stash.
What have we been watching?
Christmas films took over this month's submissions, but there was one firm favourite...
With 7 mentions, this sassy green character was clearly bringing a smile to lots of faces this Christmas, including Freddy and Lauren's son! With three adaptions, we'll leave it up to you to decide which is best!
Other festive favourites included Elf from Gary, Arthur Christmas from Tim and of course, Home Alone (1,2 & 3!). Die Hard deemed popular too.
The Mandalorian - This sci-fi adventure from a galaxy far far away had Nikki hooked!
The Crown - Team Q+A loves The Crown, and Financial Director Julia chose it as her must-watch this month. With season 5 not due for release until 2022, I might just have to rewatch series 1-4.
What else have we been up to?
Some of us chose to sit back and relax, others, not so much!
Last month, Sales & Purchasing Assistant Eliza mentioned her goal of running 5k in less than 25 minutes and of course, she smashed it running it in 23.4. Go Eliza! We're expecting to see more fitness goals smashed throughout 2021.
Eating and drinking...
Christmas is the perfect time to indulge in your favourite things and Quality Streets were going down a treat in the office. Brand Marketing Associate Rose relaxed with a glass of mulled wine and Assistant Development Chemist Faye got creative with her brand new cocktail shaker!
Which Q+A products have we been reaching for?
There was a clear winner this month but we'll start off with some seasonal notables first!
Liquorice Lip Oil was a favourite of mine and Amy's to tackle the chapped lips that winter brings. 5-HTP Face and Neck Cream got a mention too from Process Chemist Adam, keeping his skin hydrated all winter long!
But why was it so popular? Tim loves its zingy scent which (reminds him of a Jaffa Cakes), and so does Eliza. The makeup lovers in our team praised it for it's makeup-melting powers with Isabella pairing it with our Hyaluronic Acid Facial Serum for a dreamy double cleanse!
This superstar product will be returning to the Q+A website in January so keep your eyes peeled!
That draws this month's Q+A Loves to a close, as well as all 2020 blog posts! Although this year has been what you could describe as turbulent, we hope that your 2021 is filled with happiness and positivity - I've got my fingers and toes crossed! I want to take a second to say thank you so much to everyone who has supported us this year, whether it be by reading our weekly blog, repurchasing your favourite Q+A products (or trying something new), or joining our small but might skincare community! You are amazing.
Over and out, and Happy New Year!
