Q: How can I help people in need during the COVID-19 crisis?

A:

To show our appreciation of the key workers across the country helping to fight COVID-19 and keep the nation going, we’ve been donating care packages filled to the brim with Q+A goodies to essential places of work like hospitals, schools and care homes. We hope our small gesture of gratitude puts a smile on the faces of key workers across the UK.

Our packages were received by some amazing teams including:

• The Manchester Royal Infirmary

• Albert Pye Primary School

• St Georges Hospital

• Little Village Charity

• Poole Hospital

Want to do your bit and help to support key workers and people in need across the UK? Why not make a donation to one of the amazing charities listed below:

 Little Village

Although our donation was for parents, Little Village is like a foodbank for clothes, toys and equipment for babies and children up to the age of 5, committed to alleviating material poverty in London. During the COVID-19 outbreak, they are continuing to support families in need. You can help by giving a cash donation, or donating an essential kit.

Beauty Banks

Beauty Banks is a charity that helps people and families in Britain who live in such serious poverty that they can’t afford to purchase even the most basic toiletries. With the sudden influx of people stockpiling shower gel and soap during the coronavirus pandemic, there’s no time like the present to donate one or two hygiene products to charity.

Age UK

Age UK offers an incredible service to the elderly in our communities, helping to provide companionship, advice and support. As more and more elderly self-isolate, loneliness becomes a real problem. By donating to Age UK, you could help the charity answer more calls to their advice line and provide regular friendship calls to those who need it. Or you could become an Age UK volunteer and be part of making the UK a better place to grow older.

Refuge

Tragically, there has been a surge in domestic violence during COVID-19 crisis. Staying at home increases the risk of domestic abuse for thousands of men, women and children, and your donations will be used towards keeping Refuge's life-saving services running during COVID-19.

Clap for Our Carers

Join the nation in saying thank you with a nationwide round of applause every Thursday at 8pm. It's an easy way to say thank you to doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, emergency services, armed services, delivery drivers, porters, shop workers, teachers, waste collectors, manufacturers, postal workers, cleaners, vets, engineers and all those who are out there making an unbelievable difference to our lives in these challenging times.

NHS Charities Together

NHS Charities Together is a collective of more than 250 NHS charities across the UK. During COVID-19, it launched an urgent appeal to provide essential support for NHS staff and volunteers. You can support your local hospital or NHS charity, or donate to their UK wide scheme.

And a big thank you to everyone who has already given their support!

Stay safe,
