I’ll be asking the questions, which Lucy has graciously answered, so let’s get to it 👇
Tell us a little about yourself, and your place in Team Q+A
I’m Lucy, I’m 23 and I’m the Brand Marketing Coordinator at Q+A! My job focuses on all things social media and digital marketing. Of course, I’m a total skincare and beauty addict, but I’m also really into indie music and I love curating a good Spotify playlist.
How would you describe your skin type and your skin concerns?
My skin type is dry and sensitive. I have Lupus which affects my skin, so I have to make sure my products are gentle! Other than combatting dryness, my main goal is to reduce the scarring and hyperpigmentation my Lupus has left behind, and to keep my skin looking fresh and healthy.
Do you have any tips for those with the same skin type?
As my skin is sensitive, I try to avoid fragranced skincare! I didn’t realise how much it was irritating my skin until I stopped using it. Be kind to your skin too, I’m a firm believer that simple skincare can be just as effective as skincare packed with strong actives, if used consistently.
What is your Q+A routine now?
I keep my regime pretty simple as I find this is the easiest way to stay consistent! In the AM, I wash my face with a damp face cloth and then apply a few drops of Hyaluronic Acid Serum to my damp skin. Straight after, I follow with the Zinc PCA Daily Moisturiser before applying my factor 50 SPF! If my skin is feeling extra dry, or I’m not wearing much makeup, I sometimes use the Collagen Face Cream in the morning for extra glow.
My evening regime has a few extra steps! I double cleanse every night with either the Grapefruit Cleansing Balm or Rosehip Cleansing Oil, and the Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cleanser. I love wearing makeup, but there is nothing more satisfying than taking it off at the end of the day. Two to three times a week, I use the Apple AHA Exfoliating Gel which I love as it’s gentle enough for my skin but instantly makes my complexion appear brighter. Every night I lather on the Collagen Face Cream which is definitely my holy grail product. I like finishing off with a few drops of Squalane or Super Food Facial Oil.
I’ve been trialling a new Q+A product as part of my nightly regime to help reduce redness and hyperpigmentation which I am obsessed with… I can’t wait for it to launch!
Do you have a favourite product?
I’m torn between the Collagen Face Cream and Squalane Facial Oil, as they’re both products I use every day. They’re a dreamy pairing for dry and sensitive skin.
Have you ever made any skincare faux pas?
Exfoliating with harsh scrubs, way too regularly. It’s so tempting to try and scrub away patches of dry and flaky skin, but now I realise it was the worst thing to do for my skin type. Luckily, when I swapped scrubs for an AHA, and added an oil into my regime, that flakiness went away quickly.
So, to summarise for Lucy, if you’re experiencing dry or sensitive skin, keep it simple, hydrating, and consistent! In fact, if her line up of Grapefruit Cleansing Balm, Rosehip Cleansing Oil, Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Cleanser, Apple AHA Exfoliating Gel, Collagen Face Cream and Squalane Facial Oil sounds like it could be just the right thing for your complexion, you can save 10% on with the code LUCYLOVES on each individual product until Monday night, 6th September.
I look forward to sharing another regime with you next month!
